Welcome to my website.

My name is Kathy Lock and I am a fully qualified, experienced Integrative Counsellor offering a confidential, non-judgemental counselling service for adults (18+).  In addition to face-to-face counselling sessions, I also work remotely via telephone or online using Zoom.

At times we may feel overwhelmed and unable to cope with life's demands. Relationship issues with family, friends or work colleagues may be strained leaving us feeling unhappy, anxious or depressed. When life feels as though its getting on top of us, taking some time out and having a safe place to talk with a qualified counsellor can help move our lives forward.

I believe we all have the ability to solve our own problems but at times we get stuck, we can't see a way to manage and need support. I view my role as a therapist as a supporting role, there to help you achieve clarity about your situation and how it's affecting your life, and supporting you as together we find ways of managing that you are comfortable with.

I am a Registered Member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and adhere to its Ethical Framework and Code of Good Practice, which may be viewed via their website www.bacp.co.uk. I am also listed on the Counselling Directory www.counselling-directory.org.uk and Psychology Today www.psychologytoday.com.

Complimentary 30 minute telephone or Zoom call

Taking those first steps, finding a counsellor and the initial visit can all be rather daunting. Feeling comfortable and able to work together with your chosen counsellor is crucial. With this in mind, I offer a 30 minute telephone or Zoom call which is free of charge.  Rather than a counselling session, this is an opportunity for you to gauge whether you feel comfortable, establish if I am the right counsellor for you and enable us both to gain a sense of how we might work together.
